EXHIBITION TIME

It's been a busy year, lots more paintings completed and now it is almost September, it's showtime. Preparations are underway for a solo exhibition at the Casablu Gallery in Valbonne.

I've been out and about in the vineyards & hills finding beautiful landscape compositions.

The colours are amazing, all very dramatic. I love the bluest of blue skies here in the south of France. Sometimes it seems almost unreal as I mix up a colour on my palette.

This summer I also decided to take a look at some of the hill villages close to where I live. Working in oil on 300gm paper, I have produced a series of small village studies. Buildings have never really inspired me, but keeping things small and simple seems to have worked out, and been a lot of fun in the process. Maybe I will move on to bigger city scapes. It's tempting, and I have already started to wonder how I would approach the Urban environment.

But back to the exhibition. Just two weeks to hanging day, and there's lots to do. Getting canvases into frames and the paper studies mounted behind glass. Updating my website and creating an exhibition catalogue. Its all coming together.
